Over the past 6 weeks, the talented Grade 4 students have been exploring the fascinating world of materials and matter. A Journey of Discovery with Grade 4 Scientists.

By Oana Dobarcianu, classroom teacher Grade 4 Orange

Our students' enthusiasm has led to exciting experiments, uncovering the secrets of how solids, liquids, and gases interact and transform.

Exploration Highlights:

  1. Diverse Changes: Materials can undergo both chemical and physical changes.
  2. Scientific Precision: Our budding scientists diligently record experiment procedures, ensuring they can be reproduced.
  3. Metric Mastery: Students are mastering the use of the metric system for accurate experiment measurements.

Witnessing the transformation of our students into enthusiastic little scientists has been truly inspiring. They've learned the art of combining different materials in their gaseous or liquid states, discovering the magic behind creating slime with just two ingredients: Borax and glue.

Moreover, the students now confidently wield instruments to measure liquids and mass, while grasping the nuances of volume versus capacity.

If you're curious to see our Grade 4 students in action, we've captured some delightful moments:
