Winning teams will have the chance to represent ISU in the Iris BookBowl, an international competition with 30 other international schools from Belgium, Germany, Hungary, Italy and the Netherlands. The final showdown will take place at the British School of Brussels in Spring 2025.
Team categories
Students will compete in one of the following clusters:
- Cruising: Typically for Grade 6
- Flying: Typically for Grade 7
- Warping: Typically for Grade 8
While these clusters are suggested by grade level, there’s no strict rule! For instance, Grade 6 students can join Wrap, and Grade 8 students can opt for Cruising – it’s all about finding the category and books that excite students the most!
The top three winning teams from ISU—one from each category—will proudly represent ISU at the Iris BookBowl Final!
How it works
- Form a team of 3–4 members, either from the same grade or mixed grades. If you're having trouble finding teammates, please speak to the library team!
- Choose your books: The Iris BookBowl participants school librarians have pre-selected 12 books, divided into three exciting categories. Each team will choose one category and read its 4 books. Students can share the reading among teammates, with each person typically reading 1–2 books.
- Collaborate: Work together as a team to discuss, strategise and prepare for quizzes.
- Compete and Shine: Participate in internal book battles at ISU and aim for a spot in the finals!
How you can join
- Form your team of 3–4 students. Think of a team name.
- Choose one category from the three provided (each category contains 4 books).
